Our Current Reading Series - Raw Readings
Our "Raw Readings" are rather informal and the purpose is for the playwright and
for our company to hear the piece read out loud, relying upon the spontaneity
of the actors with the script. We hope that the reading will be a part of the
play's longer developmental process and can be presented within this series anywhere along in that process. For Theatre Now New York, it's a chance to hear new work and to see if we either might like to help develop
it further or perhaps even mount it as a full workshop. For the writers, it's a chance to further develop the piece with feedback before an audience.
Having an audience is an integral part of the developmental process of new works. Our first two fully produced workshops will be presented in the summer of 2013 and we're looking
to do one musical and one play. We are currently scouting locations upstate New York in the upper Hudson Valley Region.
